Sponsor–Student Communication Policy

Tsering’s Fund values the meaningful connections that develop between sponsors and the students they support. These relationships can be a powerful source of encouragement and motivation for students. At the same time, it is important to ensure that all communication remains appropriate, manageable, and supportive for both sponsors and students.

  1.  Direct Communication from Students
At times, students may reach out to sponsors directly, particularly as access to mobile technology increases. While these messages are often well-intentioned, we recognize that frequent or unexpected communication may become overwhelming for sponsors.

  2. Sponsor Boundaries and Well-being
Sponsors are not expected to respond to every message or request they receive. Maintaining healthy and respectful boundaries is essential. Sponsors should never feel pressured to provide additional financial support, gifts, or ongoing direct communication beyond their original commitment.

  3. Reporting Concerns
If a sponsor feels overwhelmed by the volume of communication, receives repeated or unsolicited messages, or feels pressured in any way, we strongly encourage them to contact Tsering’s Fund promptly at jamie@tseringsfund.org. Our team will intervene as appropriate to manage communication and provide guidance to students and schools.

  4. Role of Tsering’s Fund
Tsering’s Fund is committed to supporting both sponsors and students by:

  • Providing guidance on appropriate communication practices

  • Intervening when boundaries are crossed

  • Ensuring that all interactions remain respectful and aligned with our mission

  1. Maintaining Positive Relationships
Our goal is to foster positive, encouraging connections that enhance the student sponsorship experience without creating stress or obligation for sponsors. With clear communication and mutual respect, these relationships can remain meaningful and sustainable.

For any questions or concerns regarding communication, sponsors are encouraged to reach out to Tsering’s Fund at any time at jamie@tseringsfund.org
