Standing with Nepal: Supporting Students and Families after the Floods
Since the devastating floods began, we have been closely monitoring the situation and communicating with our partners and families. We know that the full impact of this tragedy is still unfolding, and many people remain missing as search and rescue efforts continue.

We are incredibly grateful that all of our currently sponsored Tsering’s Fund students have been confirmed safe. At the same time, we know that being safe does not mean being unaffected.
We are continuing to reach out to families to determine whether parents or other family members have been impacted. We have already received heartbreaking news that students at our partner schools have lost family members and many still remain missing. Our Tseringʻs Fund team members also have close friends who have been directly affected.

At this time, the Tseringʻs Fund board has identified the following needs:
Expenses for Puja Ceremonies & Funerals
Immediate Needs for Displaced Families
Basic Equipment for Disabled Individuals
Warm Winter Clothing & Blankets
Student Sponsorship or Funding for Educational Expenses
Toys & Enrichment for children sheltering in Monasteries
Additional Needs as they arise
We have also identified students and their families who are in immediate need of support following the loss of family members.

Providing help where it is needed most
We are launching an emergency fundraising campaign with a goal of $20,000 to provide immediate assistance to families affected by this tragedy.
Funds raised will help address urgent needs such as food, funeral costs and Puja ceremonies, emergency household expenses, and other immediate necessities.
For families who have experienced the loss of a loved one, the financial burden can be overwhelming on top of the grief they are already experiencing. We want to be there to help ease that burden wherever we can.
Our support may need to extend beyond the immediate crisis.
When a family loses a parent or another primary family member, a child's future can suddenly become uncertain. As we learn more about the circumstances facing our students and their families, we will identify additional ways Tsering’s Fund can help—including educational support and sponsorship when needed.

We are taking a careful and measured approach because the situation in Nepal is changing quickly. We do not yet know the full extent of the impact on the communities where our students live.
Our team will continue communicating with our partners, checking on schools and families, and assessing needs as information becomes available. We will share updates with our community as we are able to confirm them.
